Softball advances to 4-2 in WHAC

Last week was prosperous for the University of Michigan-Dearborn's softball team, as they went 3-1 in WHAC conference games and displayed their talents at the plate, in the field and on the mound (although softball does not use a mound). Wednesday saw the Wolves in their home opener against the Crusaders of Madonna University.

Column: Sports a success at UM-D

We often talk about how athletics here at the University of Michigan-Dearborn could use improvement. Sometimes, it's talk about the facilities, other times we talk about the quality of athletic play itself, and others, it's about fan support. With only a few editions of this year's Michigan Journal left, I wanted to take some time to highlight the bright spots we have seen this year in our athletics.

Wolves take down Aquinas

The University of Michigan-Dearborn's lacrosse team welcomed the Aquinas Saints to their home field last weekend for the first home game of the Wolves' regular season. It was a perfect day for a game on Saturday with the sun shining and the temperature right around 58 degrees at game time.

UM-D plays tough at Ruck City Tournament

Boots were on by 9 a.m. as eight men's college rugby teams got ready to kick off at the Ruck City Tournament. Familiar faces such as Oakland and Wayne State made an appearance, but were not scheduled to face off against the Wolves. Also participating in Ruck City but did not face UM-D were Oberlin and Calvin.
