EDITORIAL: American autos need tuning up

By M.J. Editorial Board

In a recent column in the San Francisco Gate, the author suggests, as the headline says, that "Detroit Must Die." He comments on the failing auto industry and the lack of innovation and all-around drivability of the American automobile, and as cattily as possible, goes so far to call them "uniformly god-awful.

EDITORIAL: American autos need tuning up

By M.J. Editorial Board

It is estimated that on any given night in Michigan alone, there are approximately 66,000 homeless people on the street. We as Americans like to think that we are generous, kind and giving. We give our extra change to guy ringing the Salvation Army bell outside stores.

"Grey's Anatomy" isn't half of what it used to be, and the five-year jump in the "Desperate Housewives" plot left me less than interested to watch another season of the ladies of "Wisteria Lane.

Take advantage of gas prices while you can

By Cindy Jovanoski

Who would have thought that gas could sink as low as $2 a gallon, or even just a bit under? I had my doubts as well as the rest of you, I'm sure. I thought that we wouldn't see $2 per gallon ever again, but that gas prices would continue skyrocketing. The gas near my area is at $1.
